From broilers to layers, all our birds are looked after and selected especially by passionate and professional farmers.
With an irregular output that makes them economically inefficient, spent layers or old hens are egg-laying birds who are past their prime. After the age of 83 weeks, feeding these birds is not cost-effective for the intensive egg industry, which is why there is a thriving old layer market in Nigeria.
Sold at comparatively cheaper prices than other mature birds, these healthy and strong old layers are well scrutinised for deformities and infections to ensure they are suitable for sale. These brown or black hens will still lay fresh eggs at a lower volume than younger birds.

When customers want their delivery immediately, we always advise that the best time for delivery is at night. Night time delivery is not a problem. Eggs will get to you cool during the night. Eggs are not good to be transported during the heat of the day.
